Originally founded in Texas, Murphy Nasica & Associates (MNA) is a political consulting firm that represents clients at every level of government: municipal, state, and federal. The victories that began in the Texas Legislature have stretched across the rest of the country. MNA has assisted clients in every region of the United States.

Our Managing Partner, Justin Epker, is a leading political consultant who provides vision and leadership for Murphy Nasica’s partnership. For more than a decade, Justin has put himself in the position to experience every aspect of running for office. From campaign management, to fundraising, to the production of dynamic advertising, Justin helps Murphy Nasica clients navigate through the political process while keeping the campaign on course to victory.
Justin leads the Murphy Nasica print media team–overseeing the branding, advertising, and messaging for our clients from start to finish. Justin also specializes in the strategic general consulting for Murphy Nasica’s municipal clients throughout the United States.
Justin lives in Dallas with his wife and daughter. When not working to improve MNA or win a campaign, you can find Justin enjoying the fun and exciting culture of the city while staying in shape playing basketball. Justin has B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Business Administration from Austin College and a M.A. from the University of North Texas.
President and Chief Financial Officer
With over 30 years of experience in American politics, Craig Murphy has earned a reputation as one of the most respected and successful political communicators. He has worked on hundreds of campaigns across America and served for nearly a decade as a Communications Director in Washington D.C.
As one of the winningest consultants working in American politics today, Craig provides unprecedented leadership and political knowledge to our clients. Craig’s depth of experience and situational recall are among the core advantages MNA can offer our clients over the competition. Craig leads the messaging team at MNA and provides guidance to all of our clients when dealing with the press. Craig also serves as our Chief Financial Officer, helping guide MNA as a successful business.
Craig lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is the loving father of six children. While he spends many nights writing mail and nudging the media narrative for our clients, Craig can be found driving his beloved Tesla and keeping in shape. Craig is a graduate of Texas A&M.
Head of Texas General Consulting
Since 2009, Matt Brownfield has had a revolutionizing effect on the way campaigns are conducted in Texas and throughout America. From forging new grassroots techniques, to improving the quality of the consulting class in Texas, Matt is at the forefront of Texas politics in the 2020s.
Matt serves as the head of our Texas general consulting business, functioning as the senior strategist for many of MNA’s clients and as a deep resource of inside, experienced, informed wisdom for all MNA clients within the Texas sphere. Matt specializes in creating workable, winning campaign plans that make use of our unique brand of voter mobilization (both in-person and online), polling and research, and PAC fundraising.
Matt lives with his family in Austin and spends his free time exploring, going to Rangers games, and reading with his girls. Matt is a graduate of Patrick Henry College and holds a masters from the University of Dallas.
Chief Branding Officer
Ross Hunt, Ph.D.
In 2009, Ross Hunt with Matt Brownfield, created our first in-house proprietary mobile canvassing application. Backed by years of data and analytics experience, Ross has proven to be the industry’s leading targeting specialist–from local school boards to the U.S. Senate. Ross’ expert analysis of strategic and tactical situations a campaign faces blends perfectly into his unmatched ability to deliver individual-level targeting for mail, phones, digital, texts, and canvassing that is efficient, molded by message efficacy, and returns the greatest votes per record.
Ross is the head of branding and our national strategic operations, bringing his unique insights to all 50 states. Ross’ proximity to targeting as well as campaign strategy make him an asset to all of our partners and allows MNA to provide significantly more efficient campaign strategies than our competition.
Ross with our CTO Blake Reynolds maintains MNA’s internal polling firm that provides scientific opinion research to our clients, our partner consultants, PACs, and corporate interests nationwide.
Ross lives in Dallas with his family and is an avid runner, having won the Fort Worth Marathon. Ross is a voracious reader and occasionally can be found writing about the Classics. Ross is a graduate of St. John’s College and received his Ph.D. from the University of Dallas in 2016.
Chief Marketing Officer
Our Chief Marketing Officer Joey Parr brings a diverse background of experience–he served as Chief of Staff in the Texas House, a writer and director of award-winning films, and media producer at MNA. Joey views each project as an opportunity to tell voters or the public the story of our client. From story boards to the selection of the correct media purchasing plan for the desired outcome, Joey’s expertise offers MNA clients access to a special talent in the political world.
Joey heads our media production and is a strategic general consultant for many of our established political clients. Joey’s campaign media has received multiple awards over the years, and he was selected by the AAPC as one of their 40 Under 40 in 2022.
Joey lives with his family in Austin and considers himself a devoted cinephile, though he considers the James Bond anthology to be a masterwork. Joey is a graduate of both TCU and the University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Technology Officer
Our Chief Technology Officer Blake Reynolds provides MNA clients with the underlying data and infrastructure needed to reach the correct individuals to win their election or achieve the desired change in public sentiment. With over a decade of experience building the industry’s leading forecasting models, creating novel methodologies, and cleanly providing data-on-demand, Blake gives MNA the ability to be outside the targeting of our competition and efficiently move public opinion without needing to involve outside data vendors.
Blake is the head of our data, modeling, and analytics operation, as well as oversees the acquisition and internal development of MNA’s proprietary software. Blake has overseen and developed MNA’s mobile canvassing application Trireme, our early voting analysis application, our canvassing and sentiment analysis applications, and our extensive national voter database and modeling projects.
Blake alongside Ross Hunt also maintains MNA’s internal polling firm that provides scientific opinion research to our clients, our partner consultants, PACs, and corporate interests nationwide.
Blake lives with his family in Dallas and enjoys movies, golf, and music. He can be found mostly working on various academic projects in his free time. Blake holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Stephanie Oliphant brings extensive experience from the White House and the Florida Legislature to MNA’s partnership. Stephanie has proven to be an unequaled assembler of talent for campaigns and public relations projects across the Country. Stephanie’s ability to identify, recruit, and maintain talent both for MNA and for our clients is directly related to MNA’s ability to provide award-winning services and high-quality products.
Stephanie is our Chief Human Resources Officer guiding our internal processes and meeting our team’s needs. Stephanie also heads our vended services and makes use of her extensive network to provide MNA’s clients with industry leading products from our grassroots, polling, modeling and data, print, digital, texting, and media departments.
Stephanie lives with her family in Dallas and is a proud mother. In her free time, she enjoys exploring with her family and remodeling her home. She dreams of one day moving to Montana. Stephanie is a graduate of Patrick Henry College.
Chief Operations Officer
John Egan has overseen the execution of some of the most ambitious and complicated voter contact campaigns across the United States. John provides MNA’s clients with a deep pool of experience in direct voter contact and the management of large field programs. In his time with MNA, John has managed hundreds of paid field contractors, dozens of campaigns around the country, and has overseen the strategic and tactical implementation of campaign plans at all levels of the ballot.
John functions as our Chief Operating Officer, directing our internal operations processes. John is the head of our grassroots department and oversees the operation of our grassroots directors both in Texas and nationwide.
Previously, John spent time as a legislative staffer in the Texas House of Representatives and as a policy researcher for a major national trade association in Washington D.C. John lives in Austin with his family and enjoys golf. He is a graduate of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and earned his bachelor’s in Public Affairs at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
